The hides we buy for shoes are larger than a pair of uppers. The best of what is left becomes our small leather goods: sunglasses cases, belts and wallets, cut from full-grain calf and saddle-stitched by hand in the Copenhagen atelier.
Saddle stitching uses two needles and one waxed linen thread passing through each hole from both sides. It is slower than a sewing machine, but the seam does not unravel if a single stitch is cut, which is why it has been used for saddles and harnesses for centuries. Edges are burnished by hand rather than painted.
Made to match your shoes
Because the leather goods come from the same hides as the collection, a case or a belt can be made in the same leather and colour as a pair of shoes ordered from us. Each piece is made to order; tell us the leather and colour you have in mind and we will confirm what is available.
